Approximately 200 people gathered at the Wigwam Resort Wednesday morning to pay tribute to the Hickman family for their contributions as business owners of Hickman’s Family Farms, and as generous contributors to the overall well-being of their community. The family received the “Business Owner of the Year 2012” award presented by Glendale and Glendale Kachina Rotary clubs.
The clubs’ goals for the event, beyond honoring Hickman’s and Arizona were to encourage and build membership in all worthy service organizations; give a special thank you to Wigwam for helping host the event; and to get other service organizations involved in hosting the event next year.
The event also was held to celebrate Arizona’s Centennial and to pay tribute to the West Valley’s historic farm/ranch/agrarian roots from 1912 to 2012.
More than a dozen people in the business community recounted their experiences with the Hickman family, which has been in the egg-producing and distributing business since 1944. Most mentioned family attribute: integrity.[/vc_column][/vc_row]
