Summer Ag Institute Early Application Deadline Is Amost Here

Summer Ag Institute Early Application Deadline is Almost Here—- You’ve already heard about the wonderful experience teachers have had with SAI. Maybe you’ve watched the video of past teachers sharing what they got out of SAI (view video at cals.arizona.edu/agliteracy/summer.htm). Maybe you’re lucky enough to know a teacher who’s gone. Maybe you’ve wanted to go before, but the 2nd week in June hasn’t worked for you in the past. Well, we’ve changed the date just for you! The 2012 SAI will be held June 4-8.

The early application deadline of March 1 is almost here! But you don’t need to pay now! You only need to get your application submitted before March 1 in order to lock in the $85 fee if you’re accepted. After March 1, the fee will be $125. Applications are due by May 1 and applicants will be notified by May 10 of their acceptance. Money will be due by May 25. We require the application because we only have room for 30 educators. The acceptance process is not based on first-come, first-serve. Please complete the easy online application a cals.arizona.edu/agliteracy/summer.htm.

SAI is a five-day tour designed to teach K-12 teachers about food and fiber production and help them incorporate that knowledge in the classroom curriculum. SAI combines hands-on learning about agriculture with practical curriculum development. Participants will receive free materials aligned to Arizona Academic Standards. You can also receive professional development credit, CEUs, and even university credit for attending. Go to cals.arizona.edu/agliteracy/summer.htm to learn more, see our brochure, and access our online application.
